Richard Bishop, a founding member of the avant-everything band Sun City Girls, is an experimental solo guitarist whose work often incorporates the sounds of India, the Middle East, and North Africa. He released his first solo record, Salvador Kali, under the moniker Sir Richard Bishop in 1998 on noted guitarist John Fahey’s esteemed Revenant label. Since then, Bishop has continued to develop his own guitar language, releasing a number of albums on a variety of independent labels specializing in experimental music.
